To Our Couples
(Sorry, this is longwinded, but SUPER important!)
We are thrilled that you’ve made it this far! This means you are probably getting married and that’s so exciting! This is such a special time for you and your other half and we want nothing more than for your experience during this time to be the absolute best! You deserve that! To give you the very best, we want to make sure that we are the perfect fit for you! If you like what you’ve seen so far from our films and photos then let’s talk! Our style relies on our couples being vulnerable and not being afraid to show their emotions. If you feel like you’re going to cry, it’s okay! Let it happen! When you look back on your wedding day you will be so glad that you didn’t hide how you truly felt! Our style also relies heavily on YOUR STORY. You ever see a film and just connect with it, even though you don’t know a single thing about the couple? Ever cried at a father-daughter dance because the moment is so sweet, but you have no clue about the history of that bride and her dad? Your story can do the exact same thing!
HERE ARE A FEW THINGS WE DO TO ENSURE YOUR STORY IS TOLD!
1) We don’t interrupt important moments! If you’re having an emotional moment with your dad during the first look, take all the time you need! It’s your day, we will adjust as needed so that you can have special moments without feeling rushed!
2) We love letters and personal vows and we would love to put a mic on you to record these! Nothing tells your story like YOU do and nobody can tell it better!
3) We don’t put a time limit on our packages! We feel that to properly tell your story the best we possibly can, we need to be there all day with you. We would hate to miss an emotional moment with mom or dad getting funky on the dance floor just because our package limits to 6 hours!
AND HERE ARE A COUPLE OF THINGS YOU CAN DO TO BEST TELL YOUR STORY!
1) Be willing to show your emotions! Don’t be afraid to be a little raw. Feel like crying while reading your letter to your soon-to-be hubby? Don’t hold it back! Let your emotions be captured. You’ll be happy you did!
2) Trust us! Definitely let us know if you want something specific, but also trust us to get the job done! We are there for you and want to give you the best product possible, but that can’t happen if someone is directing every shot. We want to be one less thing you have to worry about. In fact, we want to help you get stuff done too! If you need anything your day of, even if it’s not in our area expertise, let us know!
3) Be you! Cameras can be intimidating, and we get that! Heck, we don’t want to be in front of them, but we are there to document you and your closest friends and family. The more comfortable you are with the cameras the better the film and photos will be! Just please don’t imagine us in or underwear if you’re nervous.
ONE LAST THOUGHT…
As both filmmakers and photographers, we understand the unique value that both photos and videos hold. Pictures will forever hang on your wall for everyone who enters your home to see. A film will go online for all of your friends and family to share and experience the emotions you felt throughout your wedding day all over again for many years to come. Most of the time photographers will get booked for a wedding before a filmmaker, and that’s okay! What pains us is when booking a filmmaker happens as an afterthought or when a filmmaker gets pushed to the side for photography to take prevelance. We feel a wedding film is the most POWERFUL way to showcase your wedding, and we want our brides to feel the same! This doesn’t mean that if you choose John & Kym Creative Co to capture your wedding that we will be pushy. We want to be on equal footing with the photographer and not be there to shoot from behind them. Our goal is to give you an heirloom that you can cherish forever, and we can’t do that if we aren’t in the mix of it with you!
